Mike Beaulieu

Based in the South Okanagan BC, Canada, I also spend a lot of time on the South Coast of Vancouver Island in the Victoria area.

My interest in art started in my teens but was put aside for many years as I studied to be a commercial Pilot. After flying commercially, being a Flight Instructor, Bush Pilot and then a Captain for a small commuter airline, I founded an aviation supplies company that let me continue with my interest in art. I painted with acrylics and occasionally watercolour. In 2015 I decided I enjoyed the challenges and portability of watercolour painting and although I still paint the occasional plein-air oil and studio acrylic, watercolour has become my passion.

I enjoy painting seascapes and landscapes that convey the feeling of calm, wide open spaces and fresh air. I am inspired by the beautiful scenery from my travels as a Pilot and many road trips in Canada and the USA. I have spent a lot of vacation time in Maui Hawaii and enjoy painting its beautiful beaches, ocean and palm trees.
